"You must give up the way it is ... to have it the way you want it."
~ Unknown Source
Are you holding onto things you need to let go of? I was pondering this question as I was contemplating what I wanted 2013 to look like for me. A book I read recently said you should ask yourself three questions:
1. What do I need? (What areas of my life need the most change and why?)
2. What's in my way? (What is preventing me from having what I need?)
3. What needs to go? (Where am I being held hostage by past mistakes or pain?)
I liked this approach because it felt like I was easing into those areas that required change. Once I was able to answer the questions, I began to look for resources that would assist me in moving towards something new.
As I reviewed the line-up for The Well-Being Weekend it became apparent that all of the talks that will be given have a common thread that I hadn't noticed before: choice. We can choose to implement spiritual practices into our day, choose to hold an abundance consciousness, choose to learn how to let go of the past....that's what it's all about. We create our lives by the very choices we make and haven't we learned in one way or another how powerful we are to do just that?
Take the time to answer the questions above for yourself. Then, if you're interested in digging deeper into those areas of your life where you've decided you need to make some new choices, check into the knowledge and techniques coming your way via The Well-Being Weekend. You can explore a variety of topics for a minimal investment and be well on your way to making 2013 a great year.
With gratitude,

KarenC Energy Healing with Guidance from Your Angels

with Karen Cowperthwaite

When you feel out of balance through physical ailments, pain, mental fatigue or stress, it is your body's way of alerting you to what needs attention. Our bodies have a natural field of energy flowing around and through them. When this energy flow is restricted or limited we may experience low energy, depression or chronic pain.

These messages offer clarity and insight to you so you may benefit from the wisdom, strength and love offered by he spiritual realm. Medicine Wheel Reading or Shamanic Healing Session with Chris Moses, MS

with Chris Moses, MS

The Medicine Wheel opens you to the magical world where all things are connected and where the cycles and rhythms of life are waiting to support you through a symbolic system of the human life journey. This intuitive reading, using stones and crystals, offers insights and a focused tool to use over the next two months.

A shamanic healing session can offer you release, and restore balance, harmony and vitality, often bringing intuitive messages.

Animal Communication

with Linda Meseck

Are you ever curious about what your animal may be thinking or feeling? Do you wonder why animals do certain things that seem odd to us? Animal communication is a powerful approach to answering these questions. Animals bring a feeling of companionship, understanding and unconditional love to their families. They may also help us work through our own issues by alerting us with their own behavior changes - the challenge is knowing what they are trying to convey to us.

Rosemary Enneagram Readings

with Rosemary Hurwitz

The Enneagram is a profound tool for your emotional wellness and spiritual connection. Ennea means nine in Greek and gram means point. Hence, a nine-pointed star-like figure within a circle symbolizes the nine universal personality types or styles on the Enneagram spectrum. Rosemary will give a brief overview of the nine styles and then, using both her training and her intuition, guide you through a discernment process which will illuminate your unique personality style and the "emotional wellness map" within it, showing you specifically what you attract in times of security and/or stress.

9:00   Ann Brown McCullough: 13 Ways to Bring Spirit to Your Days in 2013

We have said goodbye to 2012 with all of the energetic shifts and changing dimensions of our life experiences. As we enter 2013 it is now time for us to embrace the magic of this New Year by creating our own spiritual practices. This fun and interactive workshop will give you the tools to experience 13 different paths to begin to fully connect with your spirit every day!

10:00  Megan Walls: Managing Yourself from the Inside Out

There are two inner resources that we all possess to better manage our busy lives and life's transitions.  In this workshop you will identify your values and strengths, which leads to increased confidence, clarity when making decisions and taking action, greater connection to self and others, and the courage to live authentically. We can only control and manage ourselves and many of us forget we have the resources right inside to help us!

11:00  Susi Roos: Slashing Cancer Risks Through Empowered, Conscious Living

The presence or possibility of cancer typically evokes feelings of fear, vulnerability and helplessness.  This presentation will empower you to make informed daily choices regarding your bodies, home and lives that can greatly boost health, energy and immune function while dropping your cancer risk by ›50%.

11:45  Lunch (On Your Own)

1:00  Karen Cowperthwaite: What if Releasing Weight Wasn't About the Food At All?

If you are someone who feels too much (a person who senses tension, feels empathy for others and situations affecting others) then you know this can contribute to your emotional overwhelm.  You may also have had trouble with food, have unusual fluctuations with your weight; lose weight when you fall in love, gain weight when dieting, etc.  These are really just pounds of false protection and by discovering how to release the extra pounds and the emotional weight you have carried around, you can free yourself to have a healthy relationship with your body, your weight and food.

2:00  Faith Curtis: Resilience and Vulnerability:Opposing Concepts or Divine Interconnection?

We will explore the contrast between two archetypes: the Warrior and the Divine Feminine and determine which archetype resonates most with you. What is the gift present in each and what is their effectiveness in creating well-being, resilience and groundedness?  Are there protective devices you use and are they working for you? Learn how you can strengthen your resilience through the experience of vulnerability.

3:00  Joan Coletto: The Consciousness of Wealth

When we understand our role in creating our lives and set intentions around our desires, we are equipped to live from a place of sufficiency and a sense of well-being is experienced. The creative process (what we plant grows, what we think manifests...) will be explored with the emphasis on wealth/abundance (material & non-material).  Meditation/visioning, intention setting, ritual and affirmations will be explored.  You will be led through a meditation/visioning process to get a sense of what wealth/abundance/success means to you. From this process you will set an intention and begin to shift your consciousness and open up to receive

4:00  Linda Meseck: Heart Centered Living: Insight from Animals on Living in the Now

Animals live in the present moment.  They live heart centered lives.  We can learn to live this way by applying some of the wisdom and techniques the animals have shared. This workshop will relay the guidance from animals, some given in their dying moments, as to how to live our lives as humans and live from the heart.  Animals are a great reminder that living from the heart rather than from the head is where true joy and happiness may be found.

Sunday, January 20

2:00   Rosemary Hurwitz: New Year, New You: How to Have Better Relationships

3:00   Christine Sonnen: Getting Past the Past

To have Health and Wealth you must go beyond feeling good about yourself and life and be passionate and driven to move forward and not let the past hold you back. In this workshop we will reflect on the elements in your past (or even your current life) that you are still holding onto. These could include grief, anger, regret, rejection or a missed opportunity. We will then discuss how to easily release these elements and move on. Demonstrations of the techniques will be given.

Pivot Teams are essentially mini-Mastermind groups, where people come together for just three meetings to brainstorm and grow an idea or discuss an issue. These are especially helpful for people who want access to a group of peers for a short period of time, and can then move forward with their idea. Click here to learn more and download an application.  Pivot Teams

Forming now!  Momentum Groups (TM)

As a private practitioner, solo professional or small business owner do you ever feel somewhat alone and a little bit confused on what to do next? Are you reliant on yourself for ideas and do you feel you waste time trying to figure things out by yourself? Now you don't have to walk this journey alone. I am forming Mastermind groups, called Momentum Groups (TM) to help you move beyond your own limited view of what's possible. Imagine having 4-5 people you meet with twice a month for the purpose of problem-solving, brainstorming, encouraging, and motivating each other. By becoming a member of one of these groups, you get to hang out with others who are all working to reach a common goal: to have a profitable, rewarding and fun business that feeds your soul and helps others as well.

One group is already full but others are still forming. If you are interested in learning more about these groups, please send an email to me at Sue Opeka and I will send you additional information and an application.

The Present Moment offers you two opportunities to get involved and live inspired. The first is through our Pay It Forward Kindness Program for Girls.
This program is loosely based on ideas drawn from Catherine Ryan Hyde's best-selling book, Pay It Forward. In our program, girls receive three charms and a card for recording their experiences. I ask them to look for opportunities to perform three acts of kindness to other girls. Each time they do, they give one of the charms to the recipient of their action, and ask that person to perform their own act of kindness and pass along the charm. This is a great activity for Girl Scout groups, church groups, sports teams, and any other group, as well as for individuals. Pay It Forward kits are available for $3.00 each. Click this link to find out how to participate. KindnessProgram
The second way for you to live inspired and bring inspiration to others is by conducting your own Inspiration Experiment. Try this...go about your day intending to inspire at least one person. (Inspire means "to influence, move or guide as if by divine inspiration.") You may like it so much that you make it a daily ritual. Remember, if you do something for 21 days in a row it becomes a habit. Wouldn't this be a great habit for all of us to adopt? I'd love to hear your stories of how you inspired someone or how you are feeling as you consciously test this out. You can email me at Sue Opeka. There is a Face Book page called "The Inspiration Experiment" where I post your stories - with your permission and anonymously, of course - and you can post there as well. Just go to The Inspiration Experiment on Facebook to read the stories of what others have already done. And don't forget to like us once you're there! If you'd like to read the full story of how The Inspiration Experiment came to be, just click here. Thoughts From Sue
